Smarter Academic Research

The xRead – Review Assistant Chrome extension connects to xread.io. When you run a feature, the text you are working with (for example a selection, a references section, or chat input) is sent over HTTPS to our servers and, where needed, to scholarly APIs and AI providers so we can return citations, checks, summaries, and answers.

In the store, look for xRead – Review Assistant. If the listing is not live in your region yet, use the install guide for sideloading from source.

xRead Chrome extension: References view with Lux, Semantic Scholar search status, and a list of candidate references with Find, Summary, and Save actions.
Reference discovery (Chrome) Lux searches scholarly indexes against your document, surfaces candidate references, and lets you verify, summarize, or save each one.

Verify Citations Instantly

Check your bibliography against scholarly catalogs (including OpenAlex and related lookups on our backend) to flag weak, incorrect, or mismatched citations.
