Smarter Academic Research
The xRead – Review Assistant Chrome extension connects to xread.io. When you run a feature, the text you are working with (for example a selection, a references section, or chat input) is sent over HTTPS to our servers and, where needed, to scholarly APIs and AI providers so we can return citations, checks, summaries, and answers.
In the store, look for xRead – Review Assistant. If the listing is not live in your region yet, use the install guide for sideloading from source.

Verify Citations Instantly
Check your bibliography against scholarly catalogs (including OpenAlex and related lookups on our backend) to flag weak, incorrect, or mismatched citations.
AI Summaries on the Fly
Highlight any claim in your text and xRead will extract the source, fetch the abstract, and summarize how it relates to your text.
Grading in Chrome
Open papers from the LMS in Chrome, then use the xRead side panel for rubrics, AI-assisted marks, and calibration (Know Me)—plus reference search and citation checks—without a separate desktop grading app.
